not for the faint of heart

So yeah, this is what we call a homeschool inservice day:

Reilly had a sleepover, and in an effort to mask my OCD, which was screaming all night long, I let the girls get into our crafts, nail polish, etc. FYI: I only have these things to seem like a good mom, I don't actually like to let the kids use this stuff. Here's why (deep breath Gail, it's not a pretty picture):

Oh and it gets so much worse (Gail I'm Fed Exing you some Xanax!):

I'm ashamed to say it took several days to organize this heap, and we had ourselves a little vacation, which we mostly spent away from home because, well, you saw the pictures. Anyway, I finally showed that disaster site who's boss and school's back in session:

I'm totally in love with those cabinets and drawers on the wall. I love, love, love seeing space like that!

Bravo for letting the kids be messy! It is good for you! all of you.

Oh my God, Cheyenne - you would have a heart attack if you stopped by my house on any given day. The kitchen table is perpetually covered in containers of playdough, watercolor paints, crayons, scissors, bits of scrap paper, yarn, colored pencil shavings, etc. I need cabinets like yours into which I can shove the craft stuff. Did they have fun?

Yeah they had a blast, which was the only thing that kept me from stabbing myself with a butter knife.

I really have to hand it to mamas who can handle the craft thing. I equate it to releasing a sack of pythons into the house.

That clutter just shows what a great mom you are.

Oh and these cabinets you guys keep talking about? Pure shit. Paper thin, manufactured house cabinets which serve virtually no function. So stop feeling envious and start feeling sorry for me.

I feel envious of the potential of your cabinets! I like to drool thinking about having custom made stuff like that in the house I maybe will own someday...

If you drool on my cabinets they will fall apart, no joke.

yeah, i'm scared to have you over again. it's just funny to think of what messy is to someone. to me, that just looked like normal crafting fun. that's just how it goes, you know?

sigh...the things we do for those kids!

Yeah, don't fear the OCD reaper. She puts up with my shit on a daily basis and you all have actually seen my actual house which I actually don't clean.

Way to go, mama!
